The 2018 Subaru Ascent has been introduced at the New York Motor Show. The huge SUV looks posh inside, yet tough on the outside.

Subaru has recently announced its upcoming SUV named Ascent. The next seven-seater SUV is scheduled to go on sale next year.

The 2018 Subaru Ascent takes on the brand's latest design concept, following the VIZIV-7. The new design concept was unveiled at the L.A. Motor Show last year.

The new concept includes a slight decrease in the size of the SUV. The new model is a little shorter than the VIZIV-7 concept which is 5,050mm long, 1,840mm tall and 1,990mm wide.

The 2018 Subaru Ascent will take on the brand's latest Global Car Platform. It will also feature a turbocharged Boxer engine. Reports say that the new seven-seater SUV has a wheelbase of 2,970.

With regard to the front design, the new Ascent sports huge angular grille that is sandwiched by two sleek C-shaped headlamps. Hexagonal daytime LED lights and fog lamps can also be spotted.

At the back, the rear bumper carries a similar hexagonal LED lights found on the front of the SUV. There is also a light strip flowing across the width of the bootlid which also links the c-shaped taillights.

At the bottom, the huge wheel arches encase the 21-inch wheels. With reference to the roofline, the high, leveled design of the roofline complements the window line and sloping beltline.

Looking at the interiors, the posh white and brown individual leather seats are to drool for. The photos posted by Jalopnik show that the upholstery and cushion of the leather seats hint on a very comfortable ride.

The infotainment system is well placed on the center console. Other important controls can also be found on the steering wheel for easy access.

In terms of space, the large SUV offers enough legroom despite having three rows of seats. The roofline is tall enough to give ample headroom as well.

The 2018 Subaru Ascent is huge enough to take over the other SUVs in the market. Reports predict that the new SUV will crush its rivals when it hits the road next year.
