The new Vauxhall Insignia Country Tourer has just been revealed to complete the Insignia range. The new model got overhauled to compete with Skoda Octavia Scout and VW Passat Alltrack?

The new Insignia Country Tourer boasts of its three selectable drive modes. Drivers may choose from Standard, Tour and Sport modes.

The various drive modes will tweak steering, throttle response, dampers, and the automatic's shifts. The driver may just select which drive mode he prefers to use with the use of a central controller.

Furthermore, the new Country Tourer features greater grip capacity. This is made possible through its new option to a rear differential where two electric multi-plate clutches manage the power flowing to each rear wheel.

In addition, the new Insignia Country Tourer now has an all-wheel drive with torque vectoring. It also sports the five-link rear suspension which has enhanced the new model's off-roading ability.

Vauxhall announced that a new engine has been placed in the new Insignia Country Tourer, alongside the brand's latest eight-speed automatic box. However, the automaker chose to keep the specs of the new engine highly confidential yet.

Reports predict that the new engine will be the latest high-tech engine that the brand will offer. It could be a twin-turbocharged, four cylinder engine that can deliver more than 220bhp.

With regard to size, the new Vauxhall Insignia Country Tourer has an improved ride height with 20mm increase from its predecessor. Although it has grown in size, the new model still managed to lose some weight via its all-new chassis architecture.

Moreover, the new Country Tourer will have roof rails included in the standard model. This allows for up to 100 kg of loads.

The new Vauxhall Insignia Country Tourer is scheduled to be launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show set to open its doors this autumn. However, actual release for UK buyers is yet to start until the first half of next year.
