Hydrogen cars are all the rage in the automotive world and Kia is one to join the bandwagon. Kia promises to have its hydrogen-powered car by 2020 and it is in collaboration with another Korean manufacturer, Hyundai.

According to Lee Ki-sang, the president of Eco Technology Center developing cars for both Kia and Hyundai, a hydrogen-powered Kia will arrive following Hyundai's debut of its latest fuel system in a new SUV next year. The Kia hydrogen powered car will undergo series of tests and validation after the launch of Hyundai's SUV.

Since Hyundai will have the new SUV in 2018, few more years is needed to have it incorporated for Kia. This makes the year 2020 as a feasible year to release the hydrogen powered car. Also, sales of the Hyundai SUV will allow the group to move its advanced technologies to the more affordable Kia.

The year 2020 is also a good year for Kia to launch its hydrogen car as other competitors like Toyota, Honda, and GM is also expected to have its own versions as well. The year 2020 is expected to be the year of hydrogen cars as it may be the future of automotive technology.

While there arenot many details on the upcoming Kia hydrogen car, Hyundai, on the other hand, dropped hints at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The FE Fuel Cell Concept boasts of a lot of lines, no grille and advanced interior. It does offer an impressive powertrain because of improved cell stack density.

Following the collaboration of Hyundai and Kia, Honda and GM also did the same thing. Both Honda and GM announced a joint venture for the hopes of producing a next-generation fuel system the same year Kia's hydrogen car is released.

Partnership and collaboration are also in the direction most car manufacturers are going for to have the best hydrogen powered car. While this promises a lot of stress to the manufacturers, it is good for buyers for having a wide array of hydrogen powered cars to choose from.

As Kia launches its hydrogen-powered car by 2020, it is expected to be one of the best options. The Kia-Hyundai collaboration may yield good results as both Korean manufacturers are relentless in coming up with the best cars.
