Last month saw quite a few prototypes of the 2019 Porsche 911 being winter tested. This afforded a lot of enthusiasts a quick glimpse into the vehicle's updated design.

The 2019 Porsche 911 prototype design. The 2019 911 sports car will not see production for a couple more years. However, prototypes of the vehicle have provided a lot of details on its distinct design elements.

Concepts and prototypes do not usually end up looking they way they are initially presented. If the 2019 911 sports car's design elements do make it to production, the vehicle could very well be the most extensively redesigned 911 in all of history.

Thanks to two image renders from Trazione Posteriore, enthusiasts now have an idea of what the 2019 911 could possibly look like. The renders specifically show a fairly accurate design of the 992 911.

Based off the images, one can see that the vehicle's rear has been significantly changed. There are brand new taillights along with a LED lightbar that stretches across the width of the car possibly inspired by the Mission E concept vehicle. This 911 could most likely sport a new engine cover as well as new exhausts and air vents as expected for the 911 line.

The front of the next generation 911 could get a carbon splitter similar to the one on the 918 Spyder. The headlights could end up a little thinner in shape with different inners as well as daytime running lights.

There isn't much that's known about the 2019 911. It is said that it could get a hybrid drivetrain although this is only a speculation. The speculation stems from the fact that there is already a hybrid version of the Porsche 918, 919, Cayenne, and the Panamera.

It is also speculated that the next generation 911 will have a new modular platform. The new platform is said to be more flexible and could also end up in the next generation 718 Boxster and Cayman.
