Consumer Reports had a chance to test drive the new Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid, and it seems that the hybrid managed an impressive 49 mpg on the hybrid. The Malibu Hybrid has an immediate electric torque and slightly quicker acceleration than the conventional Malibu model. On top of that, the Hybrid is more balanced when cornering on the track, most likely due to the weight of the hybrid battery that lies in the back of the car.
On the inside, the car comes with an infotainment system that is really easy to use whether via touch-screen or steer-wheel controls. The system is also compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car is also packed with automatic climate control and an electronic parking brake as standard. There is a $2,140 optional package that includes leather seats instead of cloth ones and adds a forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring-safety feature. There are some drawbacks in the interior, however. For instance, the rearward visibility is lower, and there is awkward cabin accessibility. Pricing of the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid starts at $28,750.
