The much awaited iPhone 8 is about to be launched but under a different name. Reports mentioned that it will be called iPhone Edition.
Many Apple fans are now anticipating the upcoming release of the Apple iPhone 8. With the promise of newer features including fast charging capabilities, facial scanning and newer size - who wouldn't want to get a hand on this new Apple iPhone.
Unfortunately, according to Forbes, Apple decided to abandon the idea of releasing a brand new curved OLED display for the iPhone 8 but instead word was out that it will adopt a flat OLED design instead. This may be a disappointment for the fans who are already waiting for the curved display in order to follow the acclaimed curved OLED display of the Samsung Edge. However, it is said that omitting the curved display might be a good thing for Apple as it will be more advantageous in the long run for the device.
Express UK mentioned that Apple will no longer launch the next iPhone 8 but instead will be a brand new flagship smartphone to be marketed as the iPhone Edition. This new iPhone edition will mark the start of a more high-end model which resembles the top of the line Apple Watch.
Currently, Apple has been experimenting with various prototypes for the new flagship model which include testing different materials and display technologies. They are also testing out new aluminum, glass and white ceramic chassis to be used for the device.
Other features as revealed in the leak is that Apple will be having a new 5-inch display with dual camera and wireless charging. The touchscreen will be used for other virtual on-screen buttons which may also remove the physical home button in front so that it can reduce the bezels surrounding the display.
But while there may be physical changes for the new model device, it will also feature a high-tech fingerprint recognition technology plus a facial tracking sensor to scan the face of users to verify their identification. This will help in making the device more secure. Talk about bad ass modern technology!
There are still no confirmed reports as to what are the exact features and when is the release of this supposed to be new Apple iPhone 8 or iPhone Edition device. But what people can expect is that it might come with a very expensive price. Stay tuned for more updates.
