AMD Ryzen is a revolution. It is released and is already threatening Intel's undisputed place in the market until now.

Ryzen introduced a brand new motherboard platform. So the processors require different memory and coolers than their predecessors. New AMD Ryzen chips include several CPUs of various capacities and performance standards.

AMD Ryzen chips with SenseMI technology have primarily the following parts: Pure Power, Precision Boost, Extended Frequency Range (XFR), Neural Net Prediction, and Smart Prefetch.

Pure Power measures hundreds of on-chip sensors. It also optimizes temperatures and power use while maintaining performance. At the same time, the Precision Boost offers fine-grained, automated frequency control that can nudge performance up by 25MHz increments. This boosts performance without consuming more power, reported PC World.

Extended Frequency Range (XFR) can nudge clocks speeds past their official maximum if Ryzen detects advanced CPU cooling. This includes liquid-cooling or liquid nitrogen, for the chip. Neural Net Prediction examines the usage and the workload of the app is managed efficiently.

AMD also revealed that that the gaming performance will improve as more game developers optimize their titles for Ryzen. "CPU benchmarking deficits to the competition in certain games at 1080p resolution can be attributed to the development and optimization of the game uniquely to Intel platforms-until now," said AMD's John Taylor. This is good news for all the gamers, reported Digital Trends.

AMD Ryzen chips are available in three categories - the $500 Ryzen 7 1800X, the $400 Ryzen 7 1700X, and the $330 Ryzen 7 1700. The 7 series will release more affordable version sometime in the second quarter.

At the same time, the 5 series will come as Ryzen 5 1600X. It is a 6-core, 12-thread processor. It can boost up to 4GHz. The quad-core, 8-thread Ryzen 5 1500X tops out at 3.7GHz.

The pricing for AMD Ryzen 5 variants is not yet announced yet. The more affordable Ryzen 3 chips will be released around the latter half of the year.
