Per Coming Soon, "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War" has an original story that features the return of the characters Talion and Celembridor. Both are tasked with infiltrating enemy lines and amassing an army that will overthrow the Dark Lord Sauron and take control of Mordor.

In the upcoming game, players will acquire a new Ring of Power to face powerful enemies such as Sauron and his deadly Nazgul to claim dominion over Middle-Earth. Thanks to the changes and updates made to the Nemesis system, players can explore and change the whole of Middle-Earth by accomplishing various tasks and making important in-game decisions. By doing so, each player will shape their own gaming experience while attempting to conquer Mordor.
