When the last season of "Vikings" concluded, a new character was introduced - Heahmund. The character made an entry in the 20th episode of the season. It is reported that the character will play an important role in the series and holds the key to the plot of season 5.

It is reported that Heahmund will be one of the prominent antagonists in "Vikings" season 5. In the sneak peek to the next season, we can see that Ubbe is struck by the bishop. He appears to be captured by Heahmund and company.

In the clip, we can see that Ubbe gets cozy with Lagertha in season 5. However, it is not clear whether the two of them will get along or not. It is also predicted that Lagertha might hand over Ubbe to Heahmund after gaining his trust. On the other hand, few people predict that Ubbe could be saved by Lagertha too, reported IB Times.

The character of Heahmund is portrayed by the talented actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers. The character Bishop Heahmund is depicted as the man of God. However, he is also a warrior. According to the story, Heahmund is not limited by the boundaries that ordinary men have to follow. This is depicted when the bishop "consoled" a poor widow following her deceased husband's funeral. Heahmund himself oversaw this.

After the season 5 premieres, Heahmund might join Harald in creating twists that are totally unexpected in the show. Also, it will throw light on how true Lagertha and Ubbe's alliance is, reported Reddit.

It is predicted that "Vikings" season 5 will premiere in November. Currently, the crew has finished shooting the first half of the season. According to an Instagram post by Katheryn Winnick, the shooting of the second part is still on-going. If the filming and post-production wrap early, it can be expected that "Vikings" will return early.
