The 2018 Jaguar F-Pace gets new updates including a new Ingenium four-cylinder engine. It also comes with better tech and safety features and should be released this spring.

The F-Pace was launched last year with only two engine choices - a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel in the 20d and a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine in the 25t. According to a report by Car and Driver, the new 2018 F-Pace adds a four-cylinder gas turbocharged base engine for the 25t variant. The Ford-sourced four-cylinder engine is no more.

The entry-level 20d now gets an Ingenium-sourced four-cylinder diesel engine. Similar to the 2018 Jaguar F-Pace diesel and gasoline V-6 engines, the Ingenium four gets an eight-speed automatic with all-wheel drive.

According to Auto Blog, the brand-new Ingenium four-cylinder engine is similar to the older Jag engine it replaces. In addition, it has exhaust manifold integrated into its cylinder head and uses a twin-scroll turbocharger. The engine can produce 247 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. This is an improvement of 7 horsepower and 18 pound-feet of torque over last year's XE turbocharged four.

In addition, it adds variable valve timing and lift, as well as a new direct fuel injection system. The new Ingenium engine also claims to have greater fuel efficiency as well as faster warmups. Jaguar also claims that the new F-Pace can do 0 to 60 mph in 6.4 seconds.

The 2018 Jag SUV also gets a Range Rover-esque trim called the Portfolio trim level which is all new for this year. It has extra-pleated and softer Windsor leather seats as well as winged headsets. It also comes with the F-Pace's 340 horsepower V-6 engine. It is only available in Yulong White with Sienna Tan upholstery, and it starts at $61,495. This is now the range topper despite being less powerful than the F-Pace S.

The 2018 Jaguar F-Pace's standard equipment remains the same, but its base price has shifted upward. The 25t starts at $43,060 and is now the cheapest model. Expect the new Jaguars to be out this spring.
