Nexus 6P is going to receive a new security patch according to reliable sources. Such update is known to make the mobile device one of the most sought after. Other Nexus devices are also reported to have such Android security patch next week.

According to Android Headlines, the new security patch for Nexus 6P is coming in the next few days. This isn't considered a huge surprise as updates such as this are released by Google after one full week as opposed to the beginning of the month. The update typically will be implemented in the devices about two days after Google has released full images and OTA's for sideloading.

Vodafone also says that the security patch update for Nexus 6P is going to be on March 7, 2017, which also means that other devices are to get it. It is important to note that devices aside from 5X and 6P are still supported by Google with such releases.

Google has been releasing security patches for over a year now. It is highly favored by its users as the updates are geared to combat a good number of vulnerabilities that are discovered linking to Android. It is also a big deal that updates also come to devices that don't get operating system update. This is the case for most users as not all update their operating systems diligently and regularly.

It is also reported that a good number of manufacturers are trying its best to keep up with Google by pushing out updates. However, Google is known for being more proactive in releasing security patches as compared to Samsung, LG, and HTC.

As added by GSM Arena, the security update on Nexus 6P devices will carry a build number N4F26T and will be around 40MB. It is also reported to be a three-phase rollout beginning with 10,000 units randomly selected which will be getting the update until March 10. This is followed by another 10% in days four to 13 and then rest are to follow covering all of its devices. It is also important to note that all other devices of Google should be getting the Android security patch update on the 7th as well.
