The craziest and quirkiest samurai to ever hit the television is slated to debut its fifth season. "Samurai Jack," will debut its fifth, and unfortunately final, season on March 11.

It is almost impossible to imagine that it was almost 13 years ago since the last "Samurai Jack" episode aired, according to IndieWire. Due to popular public demand, the show's creator, Genndy Tartakovsky, was persuaded to develop a fitting ending for the idiosyncratic samurai.

"This is it. This is the definitive end, and it's a great end,"  Tartakovsky said in a statement acquired by Cinema Blend."I haven't seen it yet, but I've storyboarded it, and I think it's super satisfying, and it should close the door for me for Samurai Jack."

For many of its fans, the return of "Samurai Jack" brings along a tinge of nostalgia and memory. While many are excited about the show's ultimate return, it also pricks a part of their emotion knowing that this is the final season of the show that has become a part of them.

In several interviews following the end of season four, Genndy Tartakovsky said that the upcoming season will be darker and will present a more violent character with mature themes. Blood, gore, and violence are one of the many factors that have endeared "Samurai Jack" to its fans. Knowing that the upcoming final season has loads of it is an assurance that it will be a great ending for an equally great show.

For the uninitiated, "Samurai Jack" is an animated series about a time-displaced samurai named Jack. The story of the series revolves around Jack's quest to travel back in time in order to defeat his arch-enemy, the demon Aku. The story also shows different foes that Jack have defeated along the way, as well as friends that he has earned.

"Samurai Jack" season five will premiere on March 11, at 11:30P M E.T. For more about "Samurai Jack," check out the trailer below.
