Overwatch News: Latest Project Cancelled, Season 4 Launch Successful - What You Need To Know!

While everyone in the Overwatch community rejoices to the arrival of Season 4, developers have confirmed to cancel Overwatch: First Strike graphic novel. Nonetheless, Overwatch Season 4 brings all whole of changes and additions for the action packed game.

Now that Overwatch Season 4 has gone live, players can utilize the competitive shooter's server browser to set gameplay parameters. Players can now customize everything from speed, hero abilities, map rotation, capture speed, ultimate abilities, and much more.

Also, Blizzard has modified skill ratings for a much more exciting engagement. Starting today, High-ranking players with ratings north of 3000 will have to participate in a competitive seven matches per week to maintain their ranking. This game aims to improve player's accuracy regarding skill rating, keep difficulty for high-level accounts, and more important ranking.

According to Engadget, the respawning system was changed too. For objective game types, respawning has a delay timer when attackers outnumbered a number of defenders on a control point, says the source.

In other news, the Overwatch: First Strike graphic novel is confirmed canceled after season 4 was launched. According to Express, "Blizzard have now confirmed that they will not be publishing the first Overwatch graphic novel later this month."

The reason behind this cancellation is the development in the entire Overwatch ecosystem. Personnel who are assigned for this project has returned to square one because of the numerous changes in Overwatch. Michael Chu, the project's lead writer, stated that they are taking the story into a whole new direction from its original idea.

"The original idea for the graphic novel dates back to the early days of the game's development and came from our desire to tell the story of the founding of Overwatch during the Omnic Crisis. We have done a lot of development on the universe and its stories. While the core of this story remains, we have changed and expanded upon how we see the events that took place during the first days of Overwatch," says the source.

Overwatch: First Strike was set to arrive in March on a digital platform, and April on print via Dark Horse. One thing's for sure; Blizzard has not canceled the whole graphic novel series. The company sees more opportunity to boost into a radically different story.
