2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin: Perfect Traveling Companion, Runs With 'Go Anywhere' Concept

The 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin is one of the best-selling big bikes worldwide. It gives the market segment a strong statement of motorcycling. The superbike offers adventures to savor, and it is the perfect traveling companion. It is well-known for its "go anywhere" fun concept.

The Honda CRF1000L is fuelled by 998 cc liquid-cooled with four-stroke Unicam eight-valve Parallel Twin with 270 degrees crank engine. It has a bore and stroke of 92 mm x 75 mm. The clutch is composed of multi-plate with coil springs, aluminum cam assist, and slipper clutch.

According to Cycle World, it features six-speed manual transmission. It has an O-ring sealed chain final drive train and HSTC three levels plus switch-off Torque Control System (HSTC). The motorcycle frame type is made of steel semi-double cradle type with high-tensile strength steel rear sub-frame.

The 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin has an ABS 2-channel with rear ABS off switch system. It offers a 310 mm dual wave floating hydraulic disc with aluminum hub front brakes. It also comes with radial fit four-piston calipers and sintered metal pads. Its rear brake is equipped with 256 mm wave hydraulic disc with two-piston caliper and sintered metal pads, as noted by RevZilla.

The Honda CRF1000L has the 90/90-R21 tube type front tire and 150/70-R18 tube type rear tire. Its wheelbase measures 62.0 inches. The seat height has a standard position 34.3 and in the low position of 33.5 inches. It features 511 lbs curb weight, which includes all the regular fluids and full tank equipment.

The superbike meets the EPA standards. However, it may differ slightly due to emissions equipment. It is also powered by a parallel twin engine, which is design to make the bike shorter front-to-back. It is the best bike for real adventure. The 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin has two color variants, the CRF1000L Red + Black + White and the CRF1000L White + Blue + Red.
