The 2018 Toyota CH-R is one of the most highly anticipated subcompact SUVs soon to be available in dealerships. As it was officially introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show, many industry experts have been excited as it officially hits the road. The 2018 CH-R is also foreseen to give its competitors a run for their money.

according to Motor Trend, the Jeep Renegade and Honda HR-V may well be worried as the new entrant makes a splash. Experts have weighed in their feedback to see if it is indeed what it promises to deliver and if the 2018 Toyota CH-R is strong enough to snatch the top spot from its long-time rivals.

The upcoming CH-R has been revealed in the US-spec trim while gaining a unique engine for the US market. however, it retains the styling of the European model. Toyota somehow did their best to sustain the interest of both markets having two completely different take on its desired vehicle look and performance.

The 2018 Toyota CH-R to be introduced in the US will have a naturally aspirated, non-hybrid 2.0-liter I-4 engine. The engine is responsible for producing 144-horsepower and 139 pound-feet of torque which is significantly more powerful than its European counterpart. A CVT is only transmission type available for the US market and will also only be available in four-wheel drive.

Toyota is proud to say that it only used the latest technologies which include Variable Valve Timing and Valvematic systems. These developments are geared for more fuel efficiency and smoother riding experience. Toyota is dedicated to letting drivers feel like they are in total control of the subcompact SUV with a simulated seven-speed Sequential Shiftmatic function.

the 2018 Toyota CH-R is also reported to appeal to the younger driver because of its unique design touches and other more updated features. To add to the appeal, the 2018 CH-R will come with a seven-inch touchscreen on top of the dash. It will also have Toyota's latest infotainment system complete with Aha internet radio.

As added by The Car Connection, the 2018 Toyota CH-R will also one of the safest subcompact SUVs upon its official release. It comes with 10 airbags, a rear view camera, forward-collision warnings with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warnings, and much more. Blind spot monitors are also available optionally.

The 2018 Toyota CH-R definitely is top of its class as it hits dealerships across the country. It may offer features that its competitors don't or vise versa. At the end of the day, it is still the consumers' decision to go for which vehicle appeal to them the most. It is good to remember, though, that the upcoming CH-R is one to put up a good fight.
