The 2018 Lexus LC500 is comfortable enough to cruise with but screams for attention. Its looks and powerful engine will definitely get a lot of heads turning.

Lexus. Toyota first launched the brand in 1989 as its luxury division. Rather than creating unique vehicles, Lexus opted to make expensive redesigns of its mass market counterpart. However, the brand has evolved into something else since then, and the LC 500 is a testament to that.

According to Digital Trends, the 2012 Detroit Auto Show saw the debut of the LF-LC Concept. This was only supposed to be a concept car with no actual production plans for the future. The car, however, garnered so many design awards and so many fans demanded Lexus to make the vehicle available in showrooms.

The luxury division was eager to please and deliver. Lexus decided to make the Lexus LC500 available in the flesh. The engineers even made sure to make it as true to the original concept's design as possible. The resulting vehicle is bold and revolutionary.

Ars Technica reported that the new Lexus coupe launched with a choice of powertrains. The direct-injection V8 engine LC 500 has an engine based on that available in Lexus's GS F and RC F performance models. The V8 can generate 471 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. This engine will scream. It also comes in a 3.5-liter V6 for the LC 500h hybrid model. This features a multi-stage hybrid system capable of 354 horsepower.

The new Lexus is beautiful and exciting, but it comes with a hefty $100,000 price tag range. It starts at $92,000 before options for the LC 500 and $96,510 for the hybrid LC500h. This is a bargain considering the $375,000 price tag on the LFA.

The new 2018 Lexus LC500 will be on sale in May later this year. It will have a lot of competition, but the new LC 500 will definitely hold its own.
