Erik Buell Racing: Black Lightning Motorcycle, Powerful Lower Seat Bike

Erik Buell Racing has set a powerful record of achieving the lower seat height and a claimed weight of 415 pounds motorcycle. The Black Lightning has been the star of the International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach, California last year.

The Black Lightning is based on the 1190RX superbike and 1190SX naked bike, which was introduced in 2013 and manufactured in 2015. The naked motorcycle is powered by 1,190cc V-twin and runs on 185 hp.

According to the Motorcycle News, it has a higher handlebar than its previous SX naked bike. Its lower seat and lower footpegs, which provides an excellent riding position. EBR Motorcycle claims to have 72-degree twin puts out 185  hp and 101 ft-lb of torque.

The Black Lightning gives a better acceleration via bore and stroke. The bore and stroke measures 4.17-inch x 2.66-inch. The displacement has 72.6 cubic inches and 13.4:1 compression ratio.

The motorcycle has an Electronic Fuel injection with two port injectors and two showerhead injectors of the fuel delivery. It also has a standard primary and secondary exhaust, which offers a 101.6 ft-lbs at 8200 rpm and has a peak horsepower of  185 hp at 10,600 rpm.

The Black Lightning has an excellent drivetrain of 520 Z-ring chains of 16/41. The clutch is made of hydraulic actuation and vacuum operated slipper. The motorcycle has an aluminum frame with integral fuel reservoir, as per Journal Sentinel.

It also features an optimized stiffness aluminum of swingarm. The front suspension has inverted big piston front forks, and rear suspensions have single shock without linkage. It has a front wheel of 17 x 3.5 aluminum. It also owns a 17 x 6.0 aluminum rear wheel.

The Black Lightning has 386 mm has a front brake and 220 mm rear brake. The front brake is made up of single perimeter rotor and eight-piston inside-out caliper. The rear brake disc has two-piston Hayes Performance Brakes Caliper.
