"The Last of us 2" has attracted a lot of fans and it has many people waiting for the sequel to be released by Naught Dog. Until now, there was no information on what the sequel was centered upon. However, there is some light thrown on the new trailer as creative director Neil Druckmann spilled some beans on the plot details.

There are rumors that are making rounds that Ellie is alone in the sequel. This is because Joel is dead. What is shown in the trailer is just Ellie's imagination. Also, the sequel will revolve around Ellie's revenge against Joel's murder.

In the trailer, Ellie was seen holding a gun. It gives a notion that Joel was going to be infected and Ellie will have no choice but to shoot him. However, many fans feel that this will not be the case and the trailer is made that way just to mislead everyone, reported International Business Times.

"We purposely deceived [players] with certain trailers," Druckmann said. "[The] shot where Joel's on the floor and he looks kind of sick and he turns up. That shot was made just for the trailer. Just to make it look like he's infected or there's something wrong with him."

Neil Druckmann also addressed a few worries. He initially confirmed that the sequel takes place a few years after the events of the first game when Ellie is aged 19. He assured that the sequel will not interfere with the storyline of the first part. Rather, it would complement it, reported Game Spot.

"The Last of Us" is themed around love. However, the much-awaited sequel is taking a U-turn here. Druckmann stated that the center theme of "The Last of Us 2" will have more of hatred and violence. He also emphasized that the sequel might not have a "happy ending." Many fans would agree that the first part also did not end too well.

Neil Druckmann said that the game is not yet ready. However, Naughty Dog will be rolling out trailers in the following months up until the release of "The Last of Us 2." The release date of the sequel is also not confirmed yet.
