"The Winds of Winter" is the most awaited release for all the "Game of Thrones" fans. The release date of the book is often eluded. Now, there are reports that a new short story is being released by author George RR Martin. This book is focused on the Targaryen family history.

The Targaryen kings had ruled Westeros around 250 years before the current "Game of Thrones" begins. It is after all these years that Daenerys begins her attempt to reclaim power.

The story is titled "The Sons of the Dragon" and it will be part of a bigger fantasy anthology called "The Book of Swords." The story is set to explore the Targaryen family with special focus on reigns of the second and third Targaryen kings, Aenys I and Maegor the Cruel reported The Guardian.

Aenys I was earlier mentioned in the book, "The World of Ice and Fire," in which he was described as an alchemist, a dreamer womanizer. He flees the throne after there was a religious uprising against his decision of having his son and daughter married to each other. This is when Maegor, inherits the throne. Meagor was more brutal and eliminates everyone who questions his right to the throne, reported The Independent.

It is reported that "The Book of Swords" will be edited by Martin's friend, the editor Gardner Dozois. This is because Martin himself is busy finishing "The Winds of Winter." "The anthologies, much as I loved them, were taking too much of my time, so I stepped back from them ... until I finish The Winds of Winter, at least. Once that's done, maybe I can sneak another one in," he stated.

It is reported that "The Book of Swords" will be released on October 10. It will be a little more wait for "The Winds of Winter" to release. Also, we have to wait for the book to understand how it will manage to create suspense after the popular "Game of Thrones" has already broken it.
