Clash of Clans still manages to make a profit even with Pokémon challenge. Clash of Clans stood for a time where it had fewer challenges to its application. A year later, Pokémon came where fans become addicted to it as they embodied a first person gameplay when they are walking around streets catching Pokémon.

Since the launch of 2012, Clash of Clans still remains in the top earning applications. Clash of Clans is a war strategy game in which players build fortresses, create clans, play with friends in its online gameplay, and its Medieval-style world.

According to Reuters, in 2016, Clash of Clans ranked number 2 in top earning gaming applications, below Mixi Inc's Monster Strike. SuperCell's other famous game, Clash Royale, featuring Clash of Clans characters, ranked number 5.

Pokémon Go contains a higher number of active users, where players walk around real life catching Pokémon, but still lags in terms of revenue against Clash of Clans.

Furthermore, AsianBreakingNews states that despite the Pokémon challenge, SupeCell generated $916 million dollars last year in 2016 from $848 million in 2015. The profit was due to lower spending on advertising and the successful launch of Clash Royale.

SuperCell has taught about creating another game to go against Pokémon Go but instead gained wisdom from a taxi driver when the driver said to not go against a competitor but to focus on what you are doing best. SuperCell then started to improve the game with updates and also by making a price strategy such as "freemium" where games are free to download but players can generate revenue from in-game purchases.

With Pokémon becoming a hit and challenging SuperCell, it has forced other companies to increase the improvements of their games. Without competitors, it would create a monarchy in availabilities of games and also developers would have lesser improvements and accommodation of fan requests.

Clash of Clan still manages to make a profit despite the Pokémon challenge. It did not follow the steps of Rovio Entertainment's Angry Birds which failed to hit up and improved the game.
