Square Enix's New RPG IP 'Project Prelude Rune' Is Not A Mobile Game

Square Enix shares light for their new and upcoming RPG IP Project Prelude Rune developed by the newly established Studio Istolia. With the goal of making Japanese role-playing games greater than before, a new RPG IP is currently in the works.

In an interview with Weekly Famitsu, Hideo Baba shared insights, plans, and stories about the new RPG IP. First things first, Baba intends to create a middle fantasy RPG that is not a bloodthirsty atmosphere which invites gamers to join the world of the fantasy game. The fantasy origin involves Norse, Mythology, Dwarves, and Elves. Baba also wants to incorporate the world of anime and comics in the upcoming title.

In a translation via Gematsu, Baba said "I don't want to change the "Baba-ness," such as depicting the growth of the characters and the strength of the message." Apparently, Baba is stating a picture of what the new RPG IP, Project Prelude Rune will appear.

He also mentioned plans of considering platforms that can score big business chances, and that includes smartphones. But, in a recent report from Wccftech states that the company is looking for developers with UE4 and Unity experience. Thus, appealing it is not going to be a mobile game.

The said information based on a NeoGAF Forum hinting details of the game being an action role-playing game. Here are the details stated by the source; Studio Istolia is hiring planners, designers, and programmers. The spec in search is "High-end Systems," thus, individuals with UE4 and Unity experiences are highly suggested. The company is also looking for Battle Planners and Programmers with Action-RPG experience.

Project Prelude Rune's path is still very unclear as of the moment. Baba expressed that the company might stick to stable platforms, yet opening possibilities for mobile platforms. And with the recent "Job Hiring Description" suggesting it is not going to be a mobile game, clearly, confuses a lot of fans.
