"Mr. Bean" star Rowan Atkinson finally has his McLaren F1 car back, but it cost him a fortune according to Yahoo.

Atkinson, who crashed the vehicle in 2011, paid approximately 1.4 million to fix the car after insurers kept increasing the price. The sum is the largest ever repair bill in Britain according to The Sun, and three times as much as anyone has ever paid for a repair bill in Britain.

Rowan suffered a shoulder injury in the crash, the second to occur in the vehicle. He's fully recovered since the incident however.

"I'm not a collector," said Atkinson shortly after buying the vehicle. "I don't like the toy cupboard syndrome that causes so many good cars to evaporate."

The 240mph supercar spent over a year at an auto body shop as McLaren experts spent their time restoring the vehicle back to its original state. The vehicle reportedly cost so much to repair thanks to the value of the car increasing up to $3.5 million.

The accident reportedly took place after Rowan hit a slipper road near Peterborough according to Yahoo. His vehicle's 6.1-l engine was torn off and thrown 20 yards away. The car wound up in a tree and had to be removed by a professional two years ago.

The "Mr. Bean" actor purchased the car back in 1997, spending nearly $1 million after modifications were added.

Atkinson is worth a reported $112 million according to Zap2It.com.
