As emissions restrictions get tighter, automakers are always looking to harness more power for less fuel use while producing lower CO2 emissions. As a response, Jaguar is offering a new range of engines in its 2018 model range.

According to Roadshow, the biggest introduction is the 247-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 engine. The engine features direct injection, variable valve lift and an integrated exhaust manifold that should reduce warm-up times. XE, XF and F-Pace are the three vehicles that will have this new engine. Its affordable nature is responsible for the 2018 XF’s drop in base price to $47,775.

There is also a new trim available for the XF and F-Pace called Portfolio. The trim is meant to be a limited edition that appeals to a lust of luxury. The Portfolio trim is equipped with a 340-horsepower V6 and update 22-way power adjustable front seats. The F-Pace Portfolio costs $63,200, while the XF Portfolio costs $68,025. There is also new XE S trim. This trim uses the same 3.0-liter V6 as the Portfolio models, but it bumps the power output to 380 horsepower. It has an optional 12.3-inch TFT instrument clusters as well. Jaguar is also equipping all the models with two new pieces of safety tech.

Forward Traffic Detection in collaboration with the optional surround camera system is able to detect items that cross the vehicle path. Forward Vehicle Guidance, on the other hand, provides a visual representation of the front end and front wheels to better complete tight maneuvers.

Car And Driver reported that compared with the 2017 model, the 2018 Jaguar XE 25T’s base price is $825 higher. It starts at $36,720. The prices for the Premium, Prestige, and R-Sport are higher as well. On the other hand, the diesel-powered XE 20d is priced at $38,220, and the XE 35t at $43,520. All the 2018 models are expected to arrive at dealerships in May.
