Samsung is busy planning the launch of its next flagship device now that there is confirmation that the official launch date will be announced at this year's MWC. With the Galaxy S8 soon to be revealed, fans are now excited for the launch of the speculated foldable Galaxy X.

The Samsung Galaxy X. Speculations about the Galaxy X hit the internet as soon as news of Koren tech giant filing a patent for a device with a foldable display and a mechanical hinge came out. The speculations included notable features that the Galaxy X will supposedly have.

Probably the most anticipated feature of the Galaxy X is its foldable display. The device is said to have the capability to fold its display inwards thanks to a mechanical hinge in the middle. When not folded, the device is said to sport a 7-inch display. It is expected that Galaxy X will provide users a single experience of using both a smartphone and tablet.

The Galaxy X will supposedly run on a 10nm processor with FinFET technology. The processor is said to improve both performance and battery life.

Other features include 6 gigabytes of RAM which is 2 gigabytes higher than the company's current flagship devices and a dual camera that combines a 12-megapixel sensor with a 13-megapixel secondary sensor creating a better depth of field in images captured.

There are also speculations that say that the Korean tech giant could release two versions of the device and make subtle hints to a probable launch date at the upcoming MWC. One device could sport the much talked about foldable display while another could feature a flexible display. The flexible display could be more like what the company had presented back in 2013 at the CES.

The Samsung Galaxy X is expected to directly compete with Apple's iPhone 8. The former's foldable, and possibly also flexible, display technology will allegedly go head to head with the Apple iPhone 8's edge-to-edge OLED display which is expected to cover the entire front.
