The 2017 Kia Forte has a pleasant price point and offers a lot of standard and optional features. It is also very roomy and has a nice design.

Pros and Features. The car feels very roomy inside despite its small looks on the outside. It also has a lot of optional and standard features, as well as easy to use controls. The touchscreen interface is also easy to work around and the warranty coverage is among the best in its class.

Cons. The EX sedan has lackluster fuel economy. In addition, the ride quality is too overly firm sometimes.

What's New? The 2017 Kia Forte gets updated front-end styling for this year. It now has adaptive xenon headlights and new taillights with LED lighting.

There is also a new S sedan model with sporty accents and better suspension. Additionally, the sedan's base engine is 2.0-liter with four cylinders that are better rated to deliver improved fuel economy than the discontinued 1.8-liter model.

The EX now has new optional luxuries as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The Forte5 SX hatchback now comes in seven-speed, dual clutch automated manual transmission which is a big improvement over last year's traditional automatic.

Models. The new Forte sedan comes in three models: LX, S, and EX. The Kia Forte5 hatchback comes in 3 models: LX, EX, and SX. There is also a Forte Koup in EX and SX trims.

The LX sedan comes with 15-inch steel wheels, full power accessories, and standard tech features. It comes with an optional Popular package that gets a lot of great upgrades such as automatic headlights, cruise control, and a rearview camera.

The Kia Forte S sedan has most of the LX's upgrades and adds sport-tuned suspension, 16-inch alloy wheels, LED running lights, and a rear spoiler. It also has a chrome exhaust outlet, unique black upholstery, and Kia's Uvo eServices telematics. It also has a Technology package that adds a lot of tech and safety features.

The EX sedan loses the sport-themed extras and adds a more powerful 2.0-liter engine, 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, and LED tail lights. It also has keyless entry and ignition, ambient interior lighting, and leather upholstery.

The Forte5 LX and EX largely mirror their sedan counterparts. There are minor differences such as 16-inch steel wheels for the Forte5 LX and stock leather upholstery for the Forte5 EX.

The SX trim brings up the sporty factor with a sport-tuned suspension, 18-inch wheels, and larger front brakes and LED taillights. It also has an auto-dimming rearview mirror and Uvo eServices as well.

Verdict. The 2017 Kia Forte is an affordable choice with a lot of added features. While it may not be as dazzling as most of its competitors, it has a lot of choices and a reassuring warranty.
