The 2018 Audi 6 has been spotted while out testing. Latest spy photos reveal a new platform, sportier design, and new features.

The new A6 will have a sportier design with its wider and more flat personality. It also appears to take some similarities with the design path of the latest A4, A5 and the upcoming A8.

Comparing to the current model, there were several major differences on the new A6. The spy photos reveal a wider grille can be seen at the front. The headlights appear to be much slimmer too.

An updated spy photo has surfaced showing the rear of the new A6. Unfortunately, there are not many concrete details revealed from the photo as the rear is still heavily concealed under the camouflage body cover.

The tail-lights can now be seen from the new spy photo posted by CarAdvice. However, the tail-lights used were pre-production pieces so the final design is yet to be unveiled when the new A6 is released.

In another report, the rear of the new A6 will most likely have a bright chrome stripe. Whereas, the front will sport bold creases and blistered wheel arches.

Autoexpress also mentioned that the new A6 promises the latest haptic touch screens which can relay feedback to the finger of the passenger. This feature is actually a new breakthrough in the automotive industry.

Another new in the design of the new Audi 6 is the design of the interiors. The cabin architecture of the new model has shunned away from the current A6 design. There will be no more conventional buttons as these were replaced with the two screens integrated into the console in the center which contain the cabin controls.

Looking underneath, the new A6 will have the latest MLB platform. This is the newest platform which is expected to be seen in the upcoming A8 too.

This MLB platform features the electric turbocharging and the 48-volt electrical system from the new SQ7. The 2018 Audi 6 will lose about 100 kg of weight due to this new platform.
