iPad Pro supply shortage is one of the external problems that Apple is dealing with now. Stocks for the 12.9-inch iPad are being depleted quickly. Speculations then suggest that the shortage could have been giving a signal that the company is preparing to launch an iPad Pro refresh.

However, it seems that the supply shortage was not intentionally planned as a marketing tool to promote the upcoming iPad. Apple Inc. CEO Tim Cook spoke last week at its recent earnings call regarding the inventory status of iPad. The CEO admitted that the company did not expect that stocks will immediately be depleted for the 12.0-inch iPad Pro.

Apparently, the projections made for the iPad were overpowered by the unexpected growing demand. In addition, Tim Cook also revealed that they encountered some issues with one of their suppliers, which is why the replenishment of stocks will take longer time.

Amidst the unpleasant news of iPad Pro supply shortage, Tim Cook expressed their excitement to launch the next generation tablet. The CEO teased that the company has "some exciting things" for iPad and he is very positive on how the new tablet is progressing, MacRumors reported.

Meanwhile, Neil Cybart from Above Avalon, an Apple gadget analyst, has noted that the Cupertino-based company has been encountering supply chain issues. The analyst mentioned that Apple also experienced a similar trouble with supply chain on their recently launched products like the AirPods and Apple Watch Series 2.

With regard to specs, speculations say that Apple will release three iPad Pro 2 models. The new tablet will come in three variants: 9.7-inch iPad, 10.5-inch iPad Pro, and 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

The next generation of iPad is also rumored to sport a 4K screen. It will also carry the USB-C Type and an improved Apple Pencil, SportsWorldNews has noted.
