The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 9 aired with a roaring comeback last Sunday, February 13th. With it, comes the most iconic moments of the show - including that famous car scene.

For the most part of the episode, the storylines and character development were the focus. Fans finally got a bit of action near the end when Rick's group of survivors were working on diffusing the explosives set by Negan's men.

Not only that, the group was working under pressure as a herd of "Walkers" slowly inches towards them. This has caused a lot of tension for the fans and the characters as well.

Finally, it came down to Michonne and Rick hot wiring two cars and taking down half of the herd in the most epic fashion. Many fans believe this to be one of the most epic herd kill yet.

Most fans are not aware that this iconic moment for the show almost never happened. Executive producer and director Greg Nicotero told ComicBook.com that the scene wasn't in the script at all.

In an exclusive interview, Nicotero told the story of how the scene came to be. He said, "It wasn't in the script, we wanted the episode to have a big bang so when we come back, we were always coming back with a splash. We knew that we had a lot of pressure because of what we did last mid-season premiere, and we were like, 'How are we gonna top what we've done before?' The script, great script, basically it was written as they just push it, just a little too far. They're taking the explosives off the wire, and the zombies surround the car, and then Rosita opens the sunroof and throws one of the explosives at them, and it blows a hole in the herd and they take off."

"Then we started working on it," Nicotero said. "When I read the first draft I was like, 'It's right there.' I said, 'If you guys would have had another day to work on the script you probably would have found it. This cable that's attaching the two cars. You have a perfect opportunity.'"

With The Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple's approval, everything was set. And this masterpiece came to life.

The cars used on the episode are still unconfirmed. But fans are hoping The Walking Dead will come up with the list soon. In the meantime, fans can check this list from IMCDB for all the cars used from the first season up to season 6.
