The 2019 Ford Explorer is definitely going to be one of the best SUV upon its official release. Ford is known to be working hard to come up with the latest generation of its SUV and seems that they have done a good job. The latest generation Explorer may get the seal of approval from car enthusiasts and critics alike.

According to Auto Guide, the SUV market has ever since been dominated by Ford Explorer. It has outperformed all other competitors who tried to rob the title away from it. It does have very good reasons why the Ford Explorer has been the undisputed market leader in the US. This SUV has been a household name in America and across the globe since the 1990s.

The 2019 Ford Explorer is expected to come on a new platform. It is expected to ride on a new platform called the D6. The new platform will take advantage of lightweight materials like aluminum similar to that of Ford F-150 pickup trucks. The Explorer will continue to be offered with front-wheel drive as standard and the all-wheel drive as an option.

It is also reported to debut either late this year or early 2018. It may make its first official appearance at the 2017 LA Auto Show, however, it is most likely to debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. The most important to note is that the 2019 Ford Explorer will be available in dealerships in summer of 2018 carrying the 2019 model year.

With all the features available, the upcoming Ford Explorer is expected to continue selling well. This has been the trend every time latest-generation models are released so the trend will not have any variations. If at all, it may break the record of previous Explorers released.

As added by Motor 1, the 2019 Ford Explorer was spotted being tested on the public road in Ford's hometown in Dearborn, Michigan. It also reported that the current 2.3-liter, four-cylinder, and 3.5-liter V-6 EcoBoost engines are likely to be updated. There has been very limited information available on the upcoming Explorer and Ford may prefer it that way. Giving little imagination makes it more appealing and enticing, creating a more much-needed hype.
