The 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT is equipped to challenge the Honda Civic, Ford Focus, Chevrolet Cruze and the Volkswagen Golf. This new hatchback came out at the Chicago Auto Show, unveiling its prominent features. Hyundai claims the new Elantra to be the roomiest of all existing hatchbacks in the market.

Hyundai displayed the newest Elantra GT at the recently concluded Chicago Auto Show. The Korean automaker claims the new hatchback would be the most spacious of all hatchbacks.

Hyundai U.S. product head Scott Margason boasts, "More space and features inside." The product head expressed his excitement to present the new GT as a real hot hatchback. Scott Margason also mentioned that the new hatch depicts "more aggression and European flair outside."

The new hatchback also boasts of its huge infotainment system. The new Elantra GT has an 8-inch touchscreen carrying the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps.

Hyundai also promises an outstanding driving experience with the new Elantra GT. At the rear of the new hatch, the independent multilink setup can be spotted. This setup plus the fact that it was produced at the Nürburgring proves that the new vehicle can provide a phenomenal driving experience.

The new hatch got its inspiration from the Euro-spec Hyundai i30. Similar to the i30, the new GT also has a wider front hexagonal chrome grille where integrated LED DRLs were also placed, DriveSpark reported.

Furthermore, there are optional features for the new hatch. Among the add-on features are the blind-spot monitors, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alerts and lane-keep assist.

Another optional feature is the 1.6-liter, turbocharged inline-4 engine which can produce 201 bhp and 195 lb-ft of torque. Otherwise, the standard sports a 2.0-liter 4 cylinder engine producing 162 bhp, GreenCarReports has noted.

The upcoming 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT is expected to land dealerships by the end of the year. Watch out for more updates on the new hatch prior to its sale date.
