Xiaomi Mi MIX, a concept smartphone, was announced in October 2016. It was released in November 2016 and it was working on an Android v6 Marshmallow. However, there are reports which suggest that the phone might receive an Android 7.0 Nougat update very soon. The Xiaomi Mi MIX was introduced as a limited edition concept smartphone. The phone was designed by Xiaomi in collaboration with the French designer Philippe Stark.

Body & Display. The phone has dimensions of 158.8 x 81.9 x 7.9 mm that it can boast of. It weighs 209 g (7.37 oz). The Xiaomi smartphone bears a ceramic body. It was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2017 that the new Mi MIX variant is also available in white color, reported NDTV.

Xiaomi Mi MIX stands out because of the fact that it has a near bezel-less display with curved edges on top. It has an outstanding 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Memory, Processor & Battery. There are two variants of the phone that are available. One is priced at CNY 3,499 and has a 4GB RAM/ 128GB storage. The other option is priced at CNY 3,999 and has a 6GB RAM/ 256GB. The phone does not come with a card slot. The phone is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor. It has a non-removable Li-Ion 4400 mAh battery, reported GSM Arena.

Camera. The Xiaomi Mi MIX has a 16 MP primary camera with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash. The primary camera has features like geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama. The video quality is also good with 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30fps and 720p@120fps. The phone has a 5-megapixel secondary/front camera.

Sound. The Xiaomi Mi MIX has a loudspeaker and a 3.5mm jack. It has active noise cancellation with dedicated mic.

The phone did not leave any stone unturned and also boasts of a piezoelectric acoustic ceramic earpiece speaker. It has an ultrasonic proximity sensor rather than the traditional front-facing infrared sensor.

It was reported that the Xiaomi smartphone has been seen running the Android 7.0 Nougat update on a benchmark site. This is not a complete surprise as the company had released an MIUI ROM based on Android 7.0 Nougat for its beta testers in December.
