The special edition Chevrolet Redline trim made its official outing at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show on Thursday. Nine of its vehicles received this new trim package including the Colorado, Silverado, Cruze Lt, and Camaro LT. It brings a sportier, upscale look marked by black and red accents.

The Chevrolet Redline trim first appeared during the 2015 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show (SEMA) in Las Vegas. Back then GM's Chevy dressed up only 5 of its iconic vehicles with this styling package. Among those vehicles are the Trax, Camaro, Silverado, Colorado, and Malibu.

All 5 vehicles had bright red details on the wheels, intakes, grille, and brakes. The vehicle's silver paint accented the various shades of charcoal, graphite, and black trim, which set off the red marks. This was widely received that Chevrolet decided to materialize the concept into production.

The special edition Chevrolet Redline trim marks the comeback of the Redline moniker to General Motor's portfolio, CNET reports. It was previously seen only on high-performance Saturn versions as Vue crossover and the Sky roadster.

In any case, this new trim is by far the broadest special edition styling package offered by Chevy. It features black wheels with red hash marks, blacked-out grilles, black nameplates outlined in red, and of course the Chevrolet bowtie logo. Other specific trims and touches will be based on the owner's taste.

Among the vehicles to receive the special edition Chevrolet Redline trim are both the Cruze hatchback and sedan, Trax, Equinox, Traverse Premier, and Malibu LT. Also, getting the styling package are the coupe and convertible variants of the Camaro. It will be above the front wheels, paying homage to iconic race cars, with red inserts in the lower bumper.

Chevy took the Redline trim a notch higher for the Silverado and Colorado LT Redline package, according to Motor Trend. Red tow hooks will be standard for the latter and will be part of the former.

The Chevrolet Silverado Redline trim is already available for order in dealerships. Customers can choose their special edition Chevrolet Redline trim for the Double Cab LT or the Crew Cab LTZ Z71 trim grades. Meanwhile, all nine models will have the custom look before the year ends.
