New Lexus LC F Made A Surprise Update Via Trademark Filing?

Lexus LC F made a surprise update when a trademark filing has surfaced on the web. It seems that Toyota is cooking up an "F" upgrade for its LC coupe and rumors about the anticipated upgrade can be put to rest now.

At the search list from the official website of the European Union Intellectual Property Office, a recent trademark application for "LC F" can be found. There were actually two applications with different trademark numbers and dates of application have surfaced.

One trademark application was filed earlier, on Feb. 3 with trademark number 016313173 while another application was filed on Feb. 6 with trademark number 016320277. Both applications were filed by Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha and contain "LC F."

Interestingly, the Feb. 3 filing did not contain Toyota's luxury brand Lexus, but the most recent application now reflects "Lexus LC F." Both applications were filed as Nice Classification 12.

Unfortunately, the reports did not give out much information except for the above details. It is just a little tease for now, to keep car enthusiasts excited about what Toyota is currently cooking up.

Meanwhile, the trademark filing for Lexus LC F resulted to various speculations on what the new car will offer. The new F model might sport the latest twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6, Motor Authority noted.

The publication also predicts that the new model might not likely be released soon. The assumption was based on the fact that the LC has just been offered with a discounted price tag.

In another report, car enthusiasts can recall a previous statement from Lexus Chief Engineer Koji Sato which seems to kill the rumors about the upgraded version of the LC. Koji Sato said that they "are not sure." Koji Sato further emphasized that the LC500h would be the model to satisfy the cravings for a more speedy car, DigitalTrends reported.

It seems that the chief engineer was just then trying to keep the excitement for an F upgrade of the LC. However, the new trademark filing for Lexus LC F is enough reason for the fans to feast on for now. Watch out for more updates as the new model progresses.
