BlackBerry Mercury To Be Launched At MWC 2017 On February 25

BlackBerry has officially made a statement regarding the launch of the Blackberry Mercury. The company stated that the new Blackberry smartphone, called the Mercury will be launched at Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress on the 25th of February.

A sneak peek of the phone was seen during the CES 2017 which happened in Las Vegas, Nevada. During the time it was showcased, the smartphone was still being designed. The new Blackberry phone is designed to entice enterprise customers. However, it will be unlocked and sold to other interested customers through retailers.

BlackBerry Mercury is an Android Nougat Handset and has the company's signature security software. It is quite different from the other touchscreen Blackberry models.  Mercury boasts of having the classic QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard, like the older Blackberry versions, will not slide in and out of the phone.

The QWERTY keyboard of the handset will be in the front and this allows the phone to have a 1080p HD Display which is just 4.5 inches. The QWERTY keyboard is not just cool but it also has a very smart feature. The keyboard has a fingerprint sensor which is embedded in the space bar. Users can also use swipe gestures on the space bar for navigating the user interface, reported International Business Times.

There are no details available on the other specifications of the phone. There are certain rumors which suggest that the Blackberry Mercury will have a 2.02GHz Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB of RAM. The storage space of the phone will be about 32GB. It will have a 3,400 mAh battery. It is rumored that the phone will have 18MP and 8MP cameras, reported NDTV.

It is expected that the BlackBerry Mercury will be in the affordable range. It is rumored that the phone will be priced closer to $300 DTEK50. The launch of the exciting new Blackberry phone is just a few days away.
