2016 Yamaha YZF-R: Lightweight And Compact Motorcycle

The 2016 Yamaha YZF-R features a lightweight and compact cross-plane-crankshaft, in-line four-cylinder, 998cc high output engine. It comes with a titanium fracture split connecting rods. The six-speed transmission with input or output shafts to centralize mass and to keep the overall engine size shorter from front to back which optimizes engine replacement in the frame for outstanding weight balance.

The YZF-R is fully equipped with banking-sensitive Traction Control,  Slide Control, heel Lift Control, Quickshifter, Launch Control, ABS, and a Unified Braking System. It also comes with an advanced aluminum Deltabox frame that uses the engine of the chassis and it is designed to provide optimum lateral, longitudinal and torsional rigidity balance.

In terms of styling, the YZF-R is inspired by the YZR-M1 purposely sculpted for maximum aerodynamic efficiency. The LED headlights are both lightweight and compact allowing for a streamlined design and layout of the front face while a LED taillight is stylish and highly visible.

The  YZF-R is the first six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit ever offered on a street going motorcycle. The Inertial Measurement Unit provides the information required to deliver a significantly greater level of safety and comfort and as well as increased performance. It is consist of a gyro sensor that measures pitch-and-roll, as well as an accelerometer or G-sensor that measures acceleration in the up to down and right to left directions all at a rate of 125 calculations per second.

Moreover,  the YZF-R supported by a lightweight and free-flowing exhaust system. It also comes with titanium headers and muffler canister featuring a mid-ship layout positioned low and in the middle of the chassis improved mass centralization.
