2017 World Car Awards Nominees

World Car Awards is the main car grants program in the world which media has been eyeing every year. This year is the event's fourth year. The vast majority of the awards are arranged by a non-profit board of car columnists from around the globe including 22 nations. In addition, this is also the primary year that the coordinators will offer an honor for World Urban Car.

The coordinators of the World Car Awards has revealed the chosen nominees for the international award in its different categories. The main three finalists will be announced at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, and the winners will be declared and granted at the 2017 New York Auto Show this coming April 13.

As to be qualified for a World Car Award selection, the vehicle must be new and must be available to be purchased in no less than five nations on no less than two continents. Previously, the victory 2016 World Car of the Year goes to the Mazda MX-5 Miata.

The 2017 World Car of the Year nominees is recently announced. One of this listed cars will follow the Mazda MX-5 Miata are the Buick Lacrosse, Buick Envision,Chrysler Pacifica, Chevrolet Cruze, Audi A5/S5, Audi Q2 and Q5, Volkswagen Tiguan, Infiniti Q60, Honda Civic, Subaru Impreza, Mazda CX-9, Toyota CH-R, Hyundai Genesis G80, Hyundai Elantra, Kia Rio, KiaCadenza, Kia Sportage, Skoda Kodaiq, SsangYong Tivoli/Tivoli XLV, SEAT Ateca, Jaguar F-Pace, and Fiat 124 Spider.

One of the awards that will be given is the 2017 World Luxury/Performance Car. These are the nominees listed: Cadillac CT6, Cadillac XT5, Lincoln Continental, Audi R8 Spider, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster, Mercedes E-Class, Porsche 718 Boxster/Cayman, Lexus LC500, Honda NSX, Bentley Bentayga, Hyundai Genesis G90, Range Rover Evoque Convertible, and Volvo S90/V90.

The latest addition to the awards is the 2017 World Urban Car of the Year. The said nominees are BMW i3, Smart Cabriolet, Smart Brabus, Citroen E-Mehari, Citroen C3, Ford Ka+, Suzuki Baleno, and Suzuki Ignis.

Last but not the least is this year's World Green Car. The nominees includes Tesla Model X, Chevrolet Malibu, Chevrolet Bolt, Audi Q7 e-tron 3.0 TDI, Mercedes GLC 350 e, BMW 740 e iPerformance, Honda FCV Clarity, Prime, Hyundai Ioniq, Kia Niro, Toyota RAV4, and Toyota Prius.
