The Jeep Renegade 2016 is a great choice for off-road and daily driving. Don't let its cuteness fool you. It is a very capable and fun to drive subcompact SUV. It also has a lot of simple tech features as well as a beautiful exterior.
Pros and Features. The Renegade is a five-passenger subcompact crossover SUV. Despite its tiny size, it is a very capable off-roader that boasts of decent power. It has responsive steering, a comfortable drive, and an affordable price tag.

The new Jeep has a lot of character and agile handling. It has plenty of easy to use tech features and the Trailhawk has a best-in-the-class off-road capability.

Cons. The Renegade only has average fuel economy. It also has a very clunky automatic transmission. Its rear-seat legroom is also tight, as well as its limited cargo capacity.

What's New? The new Renegade adds nin-speaker premium audio options from Beats. In addition, new automatic wipers are now standard on the Limited and Trailhawk models. However, the fun removable cargo light/flashlight feature was removed.

Models. The Jeep Renegade 2016 is offered in four models: Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. The Sport's standard equipment include 16-inch wheels, power windows and locks, keyless entry, and other tech and comfort features.

The Latitude adds alloy wheels, fog lights, roof rails, and automatic headlights. Heated power-adjustable outside mirrors, ambient LED lighting, and cruise control are also part of the package. Electronic additions include a rearview camera, voice commands, audio connectivity, and a Uconnect control interface with a touchscreen.

The Limited adds 18-inch wheels, dual exhaust tips, dual-zone automatic climate control, and automatic wipes. An upgraded driver information display, remote engine start, power outlet, and leather upholstery are also part of the model's features.

The top of the line Trailhawk was built for off-road driving. It comes with four-wheel drive, hill descent control, a raise suspension, underbody skid plates, and tow hooks. It has the same equipment as the Latitude and adds some premium improvements from the Limited.

Verdict. The Jeep Renegade is basically a "carlike" Jeep. It has awesome styling and a playful vibe that makes it a successful subcompact crossover. It is very rewarding to drive it but it still remains a practical choice.
