The 2018 Porsche Cayenne has been spotted on the road during its test drive. Reports are now circulating the spy photos which reveal that the upgrades for the new Cayenne will have revisions on its exteriors. Theories also vary on whether the spotted test mule is a hybrid car, an all-electric car or just a regular SUV.

The carmaker has announced that they will be doing some upgrades on the exteriors of the Porsche Cayenne. Although the company has not released any official renders, some paparazzi were quick to capture the new vehicle during its test drive and spy photos have floated on the web.

Carbuzz has posted its spy photos of the new Cayenne. The test mule was first speculated to be either an all-electric or hybrid car as the spies did not hear any noise while the new vehicle was cruising. The publication believes the new vehicle falls more on the hybrid type than an all-electric car.

However, Autoblog compared the new Cayenne in the spy photos with the latest plug-in of Porsche and has noted that the former does not have a spot for a plug. Hence, the publication is positive that the 2018 Cayenne is not a hybrid type and even mentioned that it can best fit in the SUV category than the electric sedan line.

According to Motoring Crunch, the revised design of the 2018 Porsche Cayenne resembles similar designs from the other models of Porsche vehicles. It seems that the upcoming vehicle is a mix of the Porsche Macan and the Panamera Sports Turismo.

The publication also mentioned that the 2018 Porsche Cayenne will be taking on the Audi Q7 platform which suggests that the new vehicle will have lighter weight. A 340 to 440-pound reduction is expected due to this platform.

With the emergence of spy photos of the anticipated vehicle, it is more likely that Porsche is about to launch the 2018 Cayenne soon. What do you think? Is it a hybrid car, an all-electric car, or just a regular SUV?
