Nokia may soon unveil a new smartphone at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. The new smartphone from the Finnish brand is expected to run on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.

High-end smartphones at the MWC 2017. With phone manufacturers using the latest processor from Qualcomm for their flagships, it would not be a surprise to see the Finnish tech firm follow suit with a high-end smartphone of their own. Speculations say that the company's new smartphone will be called the Nokia P1 and it will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 like its competitors' high-end smartphones.

The P1's expected features include a 5.3-inch display touchscreen with Gorilla Glass 5 and a QHD screen resolution. Other speculations say that the new smartphone will be named the Nokia 8 and will feature a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED QHD display touchscreen, dual front-facing speakers, a 24-megapixel camera with OIS and EIS, 6 gigabytes of RAM, and 128 gigabytes of internal storage.

The company has not provided any official announcement but will most likely unveil new smartphones at the MWC 2017 event given that it has started sending out invites of their own to it. HMD Global, a Finnish Firm with rights to sell the smartphones is allegedly working on four new devices with display sizes ranging from 5.0 inches to 5.7 inches.

The tech firm recently made a comeback with its mid-range Nokia 6 Android smartphone. The phone, however, is currently only available in China. An announcement for the global release of the mid-range smartphone could possibly take place at the MWC 2017. It is unclear if the new smartphone from Nokia will initially be released only in China just like the Nokia 6.

Smartphones-aside, there seem to be speculations that the company is planning to unveil a tablet. The tablet is expected to go along with the company's efforts in the smartphone industry.
