Mini Cooper Hardtop 2017 Review: Stylish and Compact

The Mini Cooper Hardtop 2017 is sporty and robust and gives its users so many customization options. It also packs a 134 horsepower 1.5-liter turbo three-cylinder engine which is both fun and frugal.

Pros and Features. The Mini's engines are a combination of fuel efficiency and speed. In addition, its nimble handling keeps it glued to the road.

There are also a lot of add-ons available and packages. This allows for a high degree of personalization. The Mini is also known for its unique look. It also has an interior that looks very classy and upscale.

Cons. The ride can sometimes by stiff and jittery. This is especially noticeable with larger tires. Its manual transmission has a vague shifter and clutch. It is also more expensive than most of its rivals.

What's New? The 2017 Mini gets slight modifications and additional equipment. The previous year's Media package is now standard for all Hardtops. In addition, there is also a Mini Seven special edition with special upholstery and wheels.

Models. The Mini Cooper Hardtop 2017 comes as either a two or four-door hatchback. They are both available in Cooper and Cooper S versions. A high-performance John Cooper Works is only available for the two-door variant.

All Mini Coopers come with 15-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights and wipers, keyless ignition, and cruise control. An electronic limited-slip differential, automatic climate control, and remote locking/unlocking are also available. Other tech features include Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone integration.

The Cooper S has a more powerful engine and a hood scoop. A dual center-mounted exhaust tip, 16-inch wheels, LED fog lights, adjustable driving modes, and sports seats are also available.

The John Cooper Works variant adds 17-inch wheels, Brembo front brakes, and a sport-tuned suspension. It also has an even more powerful engine, LED headlights, an aerodynamic body kit, a rear spoiler, and special seats.

There are several package add-ons as well. There is a Premium package, a Sport package, a Technology package, a Fully Loaded package, and a Cold Weather package.

Verdict. The Mini Cooper Hardtop 2017 is a very fun and well-rounded sporty hatchback. It also has so many customization options. Finally, it is also an undeniably very good looking compact hatchback.
