SUVs often are highly considered because of its bulky, manly, and strong design. It boasts of sheer power because of its massive build, desired by tough men and women to further their strong appeal and demeanor. Unfortunately, massive translates to heavy which then results in higher fuel consumption and less speed. However, this is not the case for 2018 Chevrolet Equinox!

According to Car and Driver, the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox boasts of its 400-pound reduction in weight. The total weight loss indicates a slightly smaller footprint that would make it at par with competitors such as Honda CR-V and Ford Escape.

The basis for the weight loss is General Motor's D2U architecture. The new architecture aims to allow for a low cowl and correspondingly low-mounted instrument panel ultimately for more improved visibility. Lighter total vehicle weight also doesn't put too much stress on its engines which means more power and considerably less fuel consumption.

The interior of 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is sure to be an envy of its competition. The new denim style fabric boasts of its durability. Well, the masculine and fashion forward men and women will also be drawn into its Levis-like appeal and design something that has not been done before.

In terms of power, this SUV doesn't disappoint either. It offers buyers a choice of three turbocharged engines. A gasoline-fueled 1.5 and 2.0-liter turbos are available both to new nine-speed automatic transmission. The third engine is a 1.6-liter turbodiesel. The new all-wheel-drive which disconnects the rear axle when not needed is an impressive technology to significantly reduce friction and improve mileage.

As added by Forbes, the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox also features a more spacious cabin with new technology and even more safety features. As for safety, the SUV is equipped with lane keep assist, forward collision alert, low speed forward automatic braking, and rear park assist.

The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox could be the answer to the 55 percent decline of Equinox sales from January to September 2016. Chevrolet sure needs to be up to speed to catch up with its aggressive competitors and it is expected that this SUV is the answer.
