2016 Mazda CX-5 Review: An Amazing Crossover SUV

The 2016 Mazda CX-5 is in a league of its own. It has a beautiful interior and cabin, superb safety ratings, a smooth and quiet ride, and very comfortable and spacious seats. It has a beautiful exterior and amazing fuel economy as well.

Pros and Features. The Mazda CX-5 2016 has a very sporty feel while driving. It makes the driver feel very secure especially while cornering. In addition, there are many great safety features.

The car's engine also has fantastic fuel economy. The front and back seats are also very spacious.

Cons. The 2016 Mazda CX-5 has very ordinary stereo sound quality. Even with a Bose upgrade, there is minimal improvement. Additionally, the CX-5 has weak acceleration with its base model.

What's New? The new SUV received some refreshing minor improvements. There are some minor style tweaks, improved interior materials, revised suspension tuning, and added sound insulation. The infotainment interface has also been updated.

There are also new options such as LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert and lane departure warning. The 2016.5 models also included standard rearview cameras, with the exception of Sport M/T.

Models. The Mazda CX-5 2016 comes in 3 different models: Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring. All models have a choice of front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).

The Sport has a 2.0-liter engine with M/T. It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, full power accessories, cruise control, and other tech features. There is also a Sport variant with a 2.5-liter engine and A/T with more added features.

The Touring has all of the features of the Sport variant. In addition, it also has fog lights, keyless ignition and entry, and more safety and tech features.

The Grand Touring has everything the Touring has plus 19-inch wheels and automatic headlights. It also has automatic windshield wipers, heated mirrors, satellite radio, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Pricing. The Sport has an MSRP of $25,315 while the Touring starts at $27,245. The top of the line Grand Touring has an MSRP of $31,000.

Verdict. The 2016 Mazda CX-5 is truly one of the best crossovers on the market. The Mazda CX-5 2017 is officially coming later this year and it's expected to be even better.
