2016 Mazda CX-3 Makes For An Impressive Compact Crossover; Up To Par With Newer Models But With Limitations

A year after its release, the 2016 Mazda CX-3 compact crossover still delivers the goods. It is still considered a reliable compact crossover but with limitations as newer models have been released. However, current and future owners of such vehicle will be pleased to know that it is up to par in the current market.

One of the notable features of 2016 Mazda CX-3 compact crossover is its classy chassis. According to Car and Driver, 63 percent of the vehicle's structure is composed of high-strength steels. There is also ample insulation from the road. Even better, the body, chassis, transmission, and engine uses the Skyactiv engineering philosophy.

Having this technology makes for a smooth and hassle-free driving. It also is aimed to make all elements of the vehicle operate and function seamlessly, with maximum efficiency to boot. This makes it interestingly still advanced even a year of its release.

If the chassis and Skyactiv technology are considered the highlight of 2016, Mazda CX-3 compact crossover are the highlights, then guess again. The most notable feature of the vehicle is its interior, considered to be one of the most important factors for vehicle users. Its interior is considered upscale for an entry-level vehicle.

The interior contributes to one smooth and comfortable ride for both the driver and passengers. To add to its "eye-candy" appeal is its tasteful red and metallic accents, contrasting stitching on the seats and dash.

However, 2016 Mazda CX-3 compact crossover comes with its own shortcomings. As per Auto Express UK, it can be noisy when driving high speed. The interior also is flawed with its cramped back seat. The trunk can also use a little bit more space for more cargo loading.

The rear legroom stands at mere 888mm. This is not even bigger than Mazda 2. The front seat is wide and spacious enough but the back seat is a different story altogether. Given this factor, such compact crossover is not advisable for a large or even a growing family.

Though the 2016 Mazda CX-3 compact crossover had considerable points taken away because of its limited trunk space and cramped backseat, the engine and its overall performance overtake all the known negatives. Its price range is considerably expensive, even a year later when it has a bit depreciated. However, second-hand users and those considering brand new ones (if still available), may think that it is all worth it.
