Only a few days after the Huawei Mate 9 Pro debuted at the CES 2017, the "best Android phone" to date has already broken several records. Along with these records, Mate 9 also took in several awards at the event.

Within three minutes, Huawei Mate 9 Pro broke the Guinness World Record for most selfies taken with different people in three minutes. The world record happened at The Palace Hotel in Downtown Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

180 seconds was all it took for the Mate 9 Pro to capture 160 high-definition selfies with the Burj Khalifa as a backdrop. Doing the math, that means this Android took one click per second to produce these photos.

Looking at the phone, the first noticeable thing is its impressive display. The screen measures 5.9 inches. Some would argue that the Huawei Mate 9 Pro is practically a phablet for its large display. However, with its large display and small body along with the tiny bezels surrounding the screen, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro is really similar to the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus when it comes to dimensions.

The phone boasts an aluminum body with a high-end finish. Its slightly curved edges made this Android phone easy to handle. It was reported that it would be available in Space Gray, Moonlight Silver, Ceramic White, Mocha Brown and Champagne Gold colors - varying from country to country.

Unlike most smartphones today, the Huawei Mate 9 will have a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is well-equipped with four microphones - two at the bottom, one inside earpiece and another one on top of the camera on the rear.

Here's the skinny on some of the phone's wildest specs and features. It offers bright and crisp full HD resolution (1920x1080). Aside from that, the Huawei Mate 9 also features the newly released Kirin 960, which is the fastest Android chip on the market according to Forbes.

The phone will also have an octa-core processor with four A73 2.3GHz cores along with four A53 1.8GHz cores. In English, this means that phone is incredibly fast. It will also feature 4GB of RAM and the latest Mali G71 GPU which will help enhance mobile graphics by 400 percent.

As for the battery life, the Mate 9 packs 4400mAH of power underneath. This means it can last more than a day with proper usage. It's all-new charging kit will support the 'Supercharge' functionality. The 'supercharge' allows 58% charge within half an hour. And full charge only taking a maximum of 90 minutes.

The Huawei Mate 9 also has the fastest fingerprint sensor to date. There would be no need to activate the sensor, it will automatically activate once it gets in contact with the finger - unlocking the phone in an instant.

It's camera features might not be as good as the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom, but it is well-equipped with the "lossless zoom". This brand new feature allows the user to zoom in on their subject without worrying about the decline in the quality.

Just like the Huawei P9, the Mate 9 is also equipped with the bokeh feature which can blur out the background of an image. It has two rear cameras, one normal with 12-megapixels and the other is a 20-megapixel monochrome lens.

When a photo is taken, the phone uses both lenses at once. Its software then stitches both images together to produce a more detailed photo. As of the moment, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro is available in Jet.com for those residing in the US.
