The 2018 Volvo V90 Wagon will be sold in the United States and the R-Design form seems to be the model many are eyeing for. Station wagons are not preferred models in the U.S. but the one displayed at the Detroit Auto Show is really an eye-opener that can sway car buyers to prefer the station wagon.

Car and Driver has reported the eye-catching 2018 Volvo V90 in R-Design and metallic blue color that attracted spectators.  The V90 is just one of the successful Volvo 90 series that includes the S90 sedan, XC90 SUV and the Cross Country V90.

The R-Design includes attractive features like the five-spoke wheels, an altered body form and wonderfully different grille. The interior has been improved with sporty seats, silver lined upholstery and a classy steering wheel. The long roof makes the Volvo V90 wagon prominently elegant.

The body is somewhat similar to the Cross Country but the height is lower making the ride a little stiffer but fit for its sport-like configuration. The 2018 Volvo V-90 Wagon is powered by the 2.0 Liter 4-cylinder with turbocharger and supercharger that brings a combined 316 horsepower just like the Volvo T6AWD models.

It is not definite if other R-Design Volvo V90 Wagons might be powered by the same engine for the front-wheel only models that gives 250 horsepower with only a turbocharger just like the Volvo T5 models. A drawback for the Volvo V90 wagon is that one cannot purchase one off the display center but requires buyers to buy through special order.

Volvo is even offering travel accommodations to Sweden if one purchases directly from the European outfit. For those really interested to buy this sophisticated luxury car wagon, this should not be any problem.

Just like other wagons, there is ample room at the back. In the V90 Wagon, the rear hatch does not open as wide as one would like so exceptionally large items are hard to load inside. This car is not fitted for loading bulky stuff but its attractive design is meant for luxury and leisurely driving.
