The 2018 Honda Odyssey had been deemed as the most popular of its kind in dealerships around the US since this spring. It has earned such title for seven consecutive years and since the model has installed several updates, it has been considered at the 2017 NAIAS event as that which embodied technology, comfort, and performance for a family vehicle into one.

The Specs

As reported by Honda, the vehicle still catered to Honda's signature with its flying wing front grille and LED front headlights. However, unlike its previous versions, it has a more sporty look to it which concealed the Active Shutter Grille that made the vehicle more fuel-efficient. Furthermore, it also retained its signature lightning bolt beltline but has added sliding door tracks under the lower portion of the rear quarter windows as an improvement. The LED headlights also have a new feature - hands-free power tailgate with foot activation.

With respect to its technological features, the 2018 Honda Odyssey now has soft-touch instrument panel, a 7-inch full-color TFT display, 8-inch high-resolution Display Audio touchscreen interface, stain-resistant leather for its seating, second-row seating and door trim, black carpeting, black seatbelts which can conceal stains, and grooveless tambour lid on the center console.

The model also installed the "family connectivity" concept which has New Display Audio, system updates which allows 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, or USB connectivity for its rear entertainment system, CabinWatch which has a camera, CabinTalk which enables the driver to talk with everyone else in the vehicle, Connected Rear Entertainment System, CabinControl, and the Social Play List which has a virtual jukebox and standard Active Sound Control technology.

In other news, Engadget reported that the body has improved with respect to the materials used. It is now made from high-strength steel, aluminum, and magnesium - features that made the vehicle lighter with a curb weight of up to 96lb. With respect to its transmission, consumers can either purchase the 10-speed automatic or the nine-speed.

The vehicle is powered by a 3.5L V6 engine which generates 280hp and has become more responsive, powerful, and less noisy than its previous model. The 2018 Honda Odyssey has been deemed a consumer favorite which has been able to sell a total of 120,846 units.
