Honda Odyssey 2016 Review: The Revolutionary Family Mini Van

The Honda Odyssey 2016 is one of the best-selling minivans in America. It features an accommodating interior, amazing fuel efficiency, and filled with a powerhouse of features. It truly is a revolutionary family minivan.

Pros and Features. The Honda Odyssey 2016 has a fuel-efficient V6 engine. It has a quiet cabin and a very roomy interior. It has a configurable second-row seat and an easy-to-fold third-row seat. The minivan will seat 7 to 8 people comfortably.

The minivan features lots of ingenious details and design innovations that make it truly remarkable. It has top crash test scores and very confident handling.

The base model seats seven passengers. It is already well-equipped with 17-inch steel wheels, a rear spoiler, rear privacy glass, and a manual two-zone air-conditioning. It also has active noise cancellation, a four-way power front passenger seat, and a 60/40 split folding third-row seat. It also has full power accessories, cruise control, an 8-inch infotainment display, and a rearview camera.

Cons. The minivan is pricier than several of its competitors. Removing the heavy second-row seats is also very difficult.

What's New? The Honda Odyssey got a Special Edition (SE) model for 2016. The SE incorporates a rear-seat entertainment system ideal for kids and a built-in Shop-Vac vacuum that will clean up after them.

Models. The EX has more great features such as alloy wheels, automatic headlights, and heated mirrors. It also has a keyless ignition and entry and tri-zone automatic climate control. It also features the Honda "LaneWatch" blind-spot camera system and an extra 7-inch touchscreen with HondaLink smartphone app integration.

The SE has some features from the Touring models incorporated into it. The EX-L has a power liftgate, forward-collision, warning systems, a sunroof, and leather seats.

The Touring and Touring Elite have even more features. The Touring adds a navigation and rear-seat entertainment systems. The Touring Elite has xenon headlights and a premium upgraded entertainment system.

Pricing. The Base model LX 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 6A) has an MSRP of $30,300. The EX 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 6A) has an MSRP of $33,450. The Basic model SE 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 6A) has an MSRP of $34,400.

The Well-Equipped model EX-L 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 6A) has an MSRP of $36,950. The EX-L w/Rear Entertainment 4dr Minivan (3.5L 6cyl 6A) has an MSRP of $38,550.

The Fully-Loaded Touring (3.5L 6cyl 6A) has an MSRP of $43,205. The Touring Elite (3.5L 6cyl 6A) has an MSRP of $43,205.

Verdict. The Honda Odyssey is really one of the best minivans in the market. It has so many smart features over a regular Honda SUV and it puts safety and fuel-efficiency first. It has a very comfortable interior that has everything one could hope for in a minivan. The 2017 Honda Odyssey will be released later this year and will be completely redesigned.
