Microsoft Xbox Scorpio News: 4K and VR Ready, Will Run on AMD Vega GPU/Ryzen CPU

Microsoft Xbox Scorpio was mentioned during the CES 2017. The much-anticipated console was featured at AMD's booth. This has led many to believe that it will be powered by AMD's new Ryzen CPU/Vega GPU architectures.

Project Scorpio was first revealed by the Redmond, Washington tech giant during E3 2016. Not much is known about it. On their official YouTube page, Xbox describes it simply as: "The most powerful console ever. Holiday 2017."

Project Scorpio Specs. Microsoft has revealed that the Xbox Project Scorpio will have "the most powerful graphics processor that's even been put into a games console." It boats of delivering top of the line performance at "the highest res at the best frame rates without no compromises."

In addition, they have promised that the upcoming gaming console will utilize 6 TFLOPS of graphical computing performance. It will also feature 4K HDR gameplay. There has also been talk about the console featuring VR technology.

Other than this, Microsoft has not shared any more details. There has been various speculations about Microsoft Xbox Project Scorpio spreading across the internet.

The upcoming console will reportedly feature VR technology. The tech giant is working with Oculus VR for their gaming system. It was also hinted that Xbox Scorpio won't just be VR-capable, it will actually be built for virtual reality technology.
