The CES 2017 finally opened on the afternoon of January 4, 2017, in Las Vegas. The world's largest electronics trade show had so much to offer even on its first day with announcements and product reveals that cover the latest microprocessors to tech-rich concept cars.

2017 CES Day 1. Big announcements and reveals were made on the first day of CES 2017 by Qualcomm and Huawei for the mobile phone industry. The Faraday Future also featured their very own electric car which is expected to compete directly with Tesla's vehicles by 2018.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835. The internet was abundant with news on and excitement for Qualcomm's 2017 flagship SoC even before it was unraveled at this year's CES. Qualcomm showcased the Snapdragon 835's revolutionizing features which are expected to improve battery life and power efficiency, virtual reality and augmented reality integration, and internet and radio connectivity. The new chipset from Qualcomm houses an octa-core processor that has four Kryo 280 performance cores at 2.45 GHz and another four Kryo 280 efficiency cores at 1.9GHz. The Snapdragon 835 aims to ensure that thermal limits and power efficiency are maintained.

Huawei's Honor 6X. The newest smartphone from Huawei wasn't all that it was expected to be. Although it doesn't feature anything extraordinary, except maybe for its dual rear cameras, it still has a lot of features, more than what you get even for the asking price of just US$250. The highlight perhaps is the Huawei Honor 6X's affordability for feature-packed Android smartphone.

Faraday Future's FF91 electric car. Tesla better be ready because it seems that Faraday Future's FF91 is gonna give the pioneer electric car manufacturer a run for its money. The FF91 is an electric car that claims to be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 2.39 seconds. To support the claims, Faraday Future went on to show a pre-recorded video footage of a speed test while giving the audience a live demonstration of the FF91's features.
