Data from Google Trends reveal that AMD Zen has emerged as a strong brand name during the last few months of 2016. The word 'Zen' is ahead of other popular computer-related terms such as 'Intel' and 'Nvidia'. AMD Zen is beating Intel Kaby Lake 10 to 1 on Google results.
The leaked benchmark tests this week furthered AMD's assault on Intel. The comparison test conducted by French technology outlet Canard PC showed AMD Ryzen's impressive specs over Intel's top-of-the-line i7 processors. The sample chip obtained by Canard bested the six-core i7 6800k and only lost to the eight-core i7 6900k.
The AMD Ryzen was pitted against Intel's i7 processors in a gaming head-to-head. Though the AMD chip struggled with its Intel rivals, its gaming performance impressed the tech community. The AMD Ryzen only run at 3.3 GHz frequency while the 6700k CPUs were at 4.0 GHz.
There is a big possibility that AMD's Zen chip architecture may dislodge Intel as the top processor for gaming. AMD is yet to release the final retail version of the chip. Once it hits the market, the Ryzen will be more efficient and deliver improved performance.
The AMD Ryzen processor is predicted to be AMD's most competitive chip in a decade. The Ryzen will be launched at the CES 2017 alongside the Intel Kaby Lake CPUs. Nvidia is also speculated to reveal its GeForce GXT 1080 Ti GPU.
AMD will market the Zen across numerous devices but it remains focused to impress the desktop gaming market. Ryzen can catapult AMD to gaming supremacy.
